How to evaluate this requirement
Bring operations, transportation and finance into the same demonstration. Select an inbound supplier shipment, an outbound customer order, a transfer between locations and an irregular urgent move. Include special requirements that affect the business: appointment windows, liftgate needs, product handling, delivery constraints or approval thresholds. State which tasks each participant must be able to perform and which outputs another system needs.
Test the sources explicitly. For the same representative freight, identify the customer's negotiated contract, dynamic carrier pricing, spot pricing and the participating national 3PL options. Ask how account eligibility, service availability and quote expiration influence what appears. Confirm the complete charge basis before booking and follow the selected option through documents, tracking and invoice review.
Next follow the information across locations. Show how an order or shipment reference is preserved, how a local user identifies a problem and what finance receives for reconciliation. Request the proposed data exchange with your ERP or WMS, including errors and retries. Establish whether the demonstrated interface is included, requires configuration or is a separate project item.
Finish with LTL cost analysis on a defined sample. Ask for dimensions, class, weight and distance impacts plus separate linehaul, fuel and accessorial views. Have the presenter explain comparison coverage, missing records and reconciliation to the period total. Record evidence and unresolved questions in the buying decision. An effective demonstration proves that the network can buy, execute and understand freight consistently, with named responsibility for the exceptions that affect customers and production.
